Spravato (esketamine)

An FDA-approved nasal spray for adults with treatment-resistant depression, given in our clinic with a monitoring period after each dose.

What it is

Spravato (esketamine) is an FDA-approved nasal spray for adults with treatment-resistant depression. It is used alongside an oral antidepressant.

Because of how it works, Spravato is only given in a certified clinic. You take each dose yourself under the supervision of our clinical team, then rest with us during a monitoring period before heading home.

Who it may help

  • Adults living with depression who have tried at least two antidepressants without enough relief
  • People who are currently taking, or are willing to take, an oral antidepressant
  • Anyone who can arrange a ride home after each appointment

Your clinician will talk with you about whether this treatment is a good fit.

Your visit

What a visit looks like

  1. Step 1

    Arrive and check in

A clinician checks your blood pressure and how you're feeling that day.

  2. Step 2

    Your dose

You use the nasal spray yourself, guided by our team, in a private and comfortable treatment room.

  3. Step 3

    Monitoring period

You rest for at least two hours while we keep an eye on you. Many people listen to music or simply relax.

  4. Step 4

    Ride home

You can't drive for the rest of the day, so a friend, family member, or rideshare takes you home.
